What is it?

Students can often unwittingly give out personal information about themselves through chatrooms, IM, and other online gathering places. Other times, they willingly give out information to "online friends" who are not who they seem. Even small pieces of information like personal interests, sports uniform numbers, and city location can be enough for a predator to track them down.

Our goals

  1. Students never willingly give out personal information to anyone on the Internet that they don't know and trust. This includes name, address, phone number, email address, age, and school name.
  2. Students understand that they can also unknowingly give out information through screen names, profiles, or online conversations.
